A Star-Studded Cast
The reboot is bringing together quite the cast. Austin Abrams leads the way, with an assortment of newcomers as stated in Hollywood Reporter:
Zach Cherry, the Emmy-nominated actor from Severance, will portray a hospital scientist. You may have also seen him in Shang-Chi and Amazon’s Fallout series.
Kali Reis, star of True Detective: Night Country and a former pro boxer, takes on the role of an ex-military woman. Fun Fact: the role was initially written for a man, but it was rewritten just for Reis!
Johnno Wilson (Twisted Metal) has also joined the cast, his role is currently unknown.
Paul Walter Hauser, star of Black Bird and The Naked Gun, had been previously revealed as a significant cast member.
Filming and Release Details
Filming begins in Prague in October 2025 and ends in January 2026. Locally funded with a hefty $36.4 million (thanks to Czech incentives), it should bring some top-notch visuals. The film is slated to be released in theaters Buried Behind December 18, 2026.
