Will Scarlet Witch Return to the MCU? Elizabeth Olsen’s C2E2 Comments Spark Fresh Theories
Scarlet Witch aka Wanda Maximoff might be joining the biggest upcoming movies of Marvel – Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Elizabeth Olsen discussed Scarlet Witch Return to the MCU at Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2). Speculation went online for her return with a viral photo in which she gives an excellent look with Doctor Doom’s mask.
Let’s just do a simple breakdown of what she said and what that could possibly mean going forward for the MCU.
The Magical Journey of Wanda Maximoff So Far
Wanda Maximoff got a supporting role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. From where everyone knows that she became a powerful Witch but not this much powerful Scarlet Witch that could alter worlds.
Avengers: Age of Ultron also has Wanda who suffered from her brother Pietro’s loss. Later, she finds her love, Vision. Vision is also a powerful Avenger who loved her but during the battle he died twice in Avengers: Infinity War.

“Due to this grief,” in WandaVision she created a fake world where she could live with Vision and their kids, Billy and Tommy. At the end, she embraced her powers to become Scarlet Witch.
How Wanda Became Villain?
Because of The Darkhold (a dark magic tome) which corrupted her mind through her weakness — her grief. Scarlet Witch destroyed everything and killed in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in search of her children.
And at the end she regretted it and destroyed the Darkhold. She caused a blindingly huge shul to collapse in on her—but we never saw her body. And in superhero stories, that usually means one thing: she could still be alive.
What Did Elizabeth Olsen Reveal at C2E2?
Elizabeth Olsen recently appeared at C2E2 in Chicago where, naturally, fans posed the burning question—will Scarlet Witch make a return in the next Avengers movies?
When she was asked outright if Wanda will return for the new Avengers duology, Olsen provided a very playful, but secretive answer.
“I don’t know shit about none of that,” she told the crowd, laughing off the heat.
When the host grilled her on version of Avengers: Secret Wars, Olsen appeared to genuinely be at a loss as to where Marvel’s currently movie line stood.
“Is Secret Wars what comes next? I’m not joking. Why did I think there were two Secret Wars? Aren’t there?” she asked.
She added that she thought the two movies were part of one large umbrella, but admitted that Marvel has been moving their plans around quite a bit lately.
Though she insisted that she doesn’t even know what the “current slate” of Marvel films is, she did open up a bit about what she wants for her character. Olsen has also revealed that she has ‘put forward things I would like to do’ to the Marvel bosses. Should she have changed her mind in the future, it is also clear she would only come back if it was true to the character.
“Every time I do Marvel, it’s a character-driven thing,” she said.
Because Wanda is such an emotional journey for her, “It’s not like, ‘just throw her in something.’”This says no to prep for a cameo, and a meaningless cameo, no less, for the Scarlet Witch. But she added:
“It will be a part that honors the incredible emotional arc she’s been traversing for the past 10 years.”
The Viral Doctor Doom Helmet Photo
Elizabeth Olsen entered smiling while holding Doctor Doom’s iconic mask at C2E2. She didn’t make any statements about the photo or anything as she gave a hint to her fans. The image rapidly went viral on social media and produced a lot of speculation on the internet.
Because of course Doctor Doom probably should be the villain of Avengers: Doomsday. Marvel has already announced that Robert Downey Jr. will be reprising his role but this time as Doctor Doom.

In Marvel comics, Scarlet Witch and Doom have a history. In one arc of the story, Wanda is amnesiac and she dwells with Doom, who applies her abilities to his own schemes.
As a result of this, many fans feel that a similar thing could be done in the MCU. Some believe Doom rescued Wanda and is now shielding her, as well as drawing upon her power. The picture could be nothing but fun – but Marvel fans know even the smallest tease can mean something big.
Could We Finally See the “House of M” Storyline?
Elizabeth Olsen didn’t say what she intended to do for Marvel, but she did mention one story she is really fond of — House of M. She called it “the coolest.”
So what is House of M?
After losing her children, Wanda is emotionally devastated which can be dangerous because of her inner darkness which comes with power. Her anger shakes the world and alters the reality into the new world with her powerful mind.

In the new reality, mutants (like the x-men) have taken over and regular humans are weak. In all this is changed because of Wanda.
At the end of the tale she utters a now well-known phrase: “No more mutants,” which strips many mutants of their powers. Fans have been demanding this story in the MCU for a long time. Now that Marvel is getting the X-Men, maybe it will. If Wanda does come back down the road, her powers may provide the reason to get the Avengers and the X-Men in one universe.
Agatha All Along, VisionQuest, and Old Friends
Elizabeth Olsen didn’t say much about these theories but expressed a lot about MCU future development with TV series VisionQuest with Paul Bettany as the White Vision.
I’ve seen Paul in the last six months, so I know about VisionQuest,” she said.
She mentioned Agatha All Along as well. That’s the spin-off series about witch Agatha Harkness. It’s over now. That series featured Aubrey Plaza as Lady Death (aka Rio Vidal) and at long last introduced Wanda’s son, Billy Maximoff (now known as Wiccan), into the primary timeline as a teen. Billy’s entire agenda in the MCU right now is to track down his brother, Tommy, and, one day, his mother.

Olsen loved the show. She said she would love to work with Aubrey again. Aubrey Plaza is Death itself. If Wanda was indeed killed at the end of Multiverse of Madness, she could be spending time with Lady Death right now. Bringing Billy, Agatha and Lady Death into the equation certainly makes a Scarlet Witch comeback seem more likely than ever.
The Road to Secret Wars
Elizabeth Olsen might be shooting scenes as we speak somewhere in secret. Or perhaps she’ll bide her time until Marvel Studios comes knocking. Her return to the MCU and fans love for WandaVision is very apparent. She has said she is obsessed with the character. She wants to come back but is waiting for the best story.
The MCU threw a bunch of blockbusters to their fans such as Avengers: Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars. The Multiverse Saga begins with new stories and characters which are more powerful than before.

They are expected to be as big as Avengers: Endgame Robert Downey Jr. - The antagonists will be a returning Doctor Doom, with the destruction of the Multiverse and also the Fantastic Four will join the story.
Since Scarlet Witch is also among the strongest characters, fans are hungry for her return, as the Avengers are about to require all the help they can take.

Conclusion
Marvel is on a tear these days surprising its fans. Elizabeth Olsen passes on concrete Wanda news at C2E2. But that does not mean she won’t be back. What she says is clear: Scarlet Witch is not going to just flash in for a quick cameo. It’s gotta count.
Wanda still has a lot left to do in the Multiverse Saga, between the mysterious Doctor Doom turn, Billy Maximoff’s increasing importance, and the possibility of world-terminating disasters like House of M. It’s even more difficult to think about her story being finished when you remember the Marvel Maximoff’s power and anger.
